Betty Bugusu the Managing Director of Purdue University’s International Food Technology Center. The Center’s focus is to develop and use food technologies to enhance food security and economic development in developing countries. Prior to joining Purdue, Dr. Bugusu worked as a Research Scientist with the Institute of Food Technologists, a food scientists and technologists’ membership organization, in Washington, DC on science a policy issues. She also worked at as a Program Associate SUSTAIN, a non-profit organization, devoted to using innovative technologies to improve nutrition and health in developing countries. Dr. Bugusu obtained her B.Sc. degree in Agriculture from Egerton University, Kenya and M.S. and Ph.D. in Food Science from Purdue University, USA.
